About PlayTheSweeps
PlayTheSweeps is an independent editorial site covering US sweepstakes casinos. We review the established platforms, track every new launch in the category, and document which platforms are legal in which states. We are not a casino, we do not operate games, and we do not accept payment for rankings.
Why this site exists
Sweepstakes casinos launch constantly, and most coverage of them is either operator marketing or thin pages built to capture clicks. The category needs the same treatment a serious product category gets: verified facts, repeatable testing, named sources, and clear disclosure of how the publisher makes money. That is the standard we hold ourselves to on every page.
How we are funded
The site earns affiliate commissions when readers sign up at some of the platforms we cover. The offer you receive is identical whether you use our link or not. Commissions never influence scores, and platforms cannot pay to be listed, ranked, or reviewed. The full policy is on the affiliate disclosure page. Some platforms we cover, including unlicensed fish-table apps, have no affiliate program at all; we cover them because readers search for them and deserve accurate information.
Editorial standards
- Every license claim is checked against the regulator's public registry, not the operator's footer.
- Every platform gets an editorial rating from our desk on a documented rubric; a verified score follows only after we complete a real-money redemption ourselves.
- Regulatory claims on state pages cite the actual statute or gaming commission source.
- Pages show the date they were last reviewed, and material changes trigger a re-review.
- Corrections: if we got something wrong, email editor@playthesweeps.com and we will fix it and note the correction.
The team
Reviews and ratings on PlayTheSweeps are written and overseen by our editorial team.

David leads product and design at PlayTheSweeps. He spent over a decade designing products inside the iGaming industry, from casino lobbies and live-dealer interfaces to sweepstakes coin economies and the redemption flows players use to cash out. That operator-side background shapes how we review: instead of repeating marketing copy, we judge the things a player actually feels, the sign-up friction, how a redemption really clears, and the dark patterns built into a cashier. David oversees the six-pillar scoring rubric and reviews platform UX, mechanics, and redemption design.
